Marketing Internship

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

The Brandon Maxwell internship program is an intimate learning environment allowing participants to get in depth experience in his/her area of study. Interns will gain first hand experience in design, product development, production, wholesale sales, marketing, distribution of our collections, or operations based on his/her area of interest and placement.

Terms:

  • (3-5 Full Days/Week)
  • Spring: January – April/May
  • Summer: May – August
  • Fall: September – December

Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Assist President and Marketing Manager in all aspects of marketing, e-commerce, social and digital strategies with the brand.
  • Assist with and attend campaign shoots and other branded events.
  • Organize and oversee image archive and update website.
  • Track and update organizational charts for social and digital strategies.
  • Work with Creative Services on researching best practices for E-Commerce.
  • Research tasks to support marketing and development initiatives
  • Assist with Sample Trafficking
  • Create weekly analytics reports
  • Work on press clippings
  • Assist with administrative office tasks to ensure efficiency

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Prior internships and/or related experience preferred (experience in Sample Trafficking is a plus!)

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (attention to detail is a must)
  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Excel, Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work well under pressure in fast-paced environment with shifting priorities while maintaining deadlines
  • Available three days a week to work at Brandon Maxwell
  • Must be fluent in English (written and verbal)

Design Internship

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

The Brandon Maxwell internship program is an intimate learning environment allowing participants to get in depth experience in his/her area of study. Interns will gain first hand experience in design, product development, production, wholesale sales, marketing, distribution of our collections, or operations based on his/her area of interest and placement.

Terms:

  • (3-5 Full Days/Week)
  • Spring: January – April/May
  • Summer: May – August
  • Fall: September – December

Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Source and partner with external pattern makers, sample sewers and tech editors to build industry relationships
  • Assist in technical design and development; accurately sketching ideas and variations as assigned, either by hand or in adobe suite
  • Create and maintain project spec sheets and partner with Product Development to build out seasonal BOMs
  • Manage quality assurance for sampling goods, trims, muslins and finished garments goods
  • Maintain respectful and cooperative demeanor with all factory and development partners
  • Able to clearly and timely relay information, accurately
  • Able to clearly and timely complete projects with shifting deadlines
  • Create visual tools for better cross-functional partnerships
  • Organize errands, projects and overall day to best utilize time and meet highest level priorities first
  • Organize fabric, trim and pattern libraries and studio overall
  • Develop expertise in product kit development and development of proto and SMS samples across multiple categories
  • Ability to track progress and update across multiple platforms to multiple people

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Working towards or completed bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Product Development or Fashion Design
  • Applicants with product development hands on knowledge are not required, but preferred
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite
  • Excellent skills in Excel, and all MS suit programs
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Familiarity or willingness to learn google drive and Google supported apps
  • Able to take creative direction with projects and match image mining, trend forecasting and research to topic at hand and representative of brand
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication
  • Prior internship or employment experience in NYC
  • Ability to quickly generate tech packs for complex styles in apparel, handbags and multiple other categories, as assigned
  • Able to sketch with both a gestural hand and also with accurate technical details
  • Ability to render fabrics is a plus
  • Able to maintain detailed notes and records, for themselves and in assistance for team
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, timelines, and deliverables with strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic patternmaking, with understanding of garment construction terminology
  • General knowledge of fabrics and fabric properties
  • Hand and industrial sewing skills
  • Ability to ask questions, and also work autonomously when needed

Fashion Sales and Merchandising Internship

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

The Brandon Maxwell internship program is an intimate learning environment allowing participants to get in depth experience in his/her area of study. Interns will gain first hand experience in design, product development, production, wholesale sales, marketing, distribution of our collections, or operations based on his/her area of interest and placement.

  • (3-5 Full Days/Week)
  • Spring: January – April/May
  • Summer: May – August
  • Fall: September – December

Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Assist EVP and Account Executive in all aspects of the sales process, including showroom management, market preparation, and administrative support.

  •  

  • Assist with and attend market appointments and product knowledge clinics at NYC Retailers
  • Remerchandising and organization of the showroom
  • Record account selling and create weekly reports.
  • Organize documents and calendars related to sales and purchase orders.
  • Check store orders for accuracy.
  • Assist with sample maintenance & shipping
  • Track samples to ensure they are effectively managed between sales, PR, and production departments.
  • Research national and international stores
